Established October 6, 1949
The formation of 515 took place under the sponsorship of the United Church Schools in St. John's, Newfoundland.
At that time the squadron was known as 515 Atlantic Squadron. This sponsorship continued until 1951 when the squadron was renamed 515 Kiwanis Squadron to reflect their sponsorship by the Kiwanis of St. John's.
In 1966, 150 Wing, Air Force Association of Canada assumed the role of sponsor, and the name was changed to it's current 515 North Atlantic Squadron.
To contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program.

Commanding Officer's Message
My name is Captain Mitchell Ryall, Commanding Officer of 515 North Atlantic RCACS, and I would like to personally welcome you to our unit website and to the Canadian Cadet Organization!
As a former cadet I can assure you that no matter where your interests and passions lie the cadet program offers something that will appeal to you! Aviation enthusiasts will enjoy our focus on aircraft and flying opportunities. Outdoor activity seekers will be interested in our aircrew survival outings. If you’re a musician, you’ll likely enjoy being a member of our squadron band. Are you passionate about healthy living and physical fitness? You would be an excellent member of our biathlon team.
The opportunities available to you as a cadet are endless and the sky is truly the limit!
I can say with certainty that the cadet program will assist each and every one of you to become the best person you can be. From leadership experiences, community service events, adventurous activities and team-building functions, each opportunity will help you to develop skills and qualities that will benefit you in whatever path you choose to take in life.
It goes without saying, that in order to get the most out of the program, cadets must be motivated, committed and willing to take on responsibility. We have high expectations for each and every cadet but I guarantee that you will have the full support of our highly qualified staff who will provide as much guidance as required in order to help you achieve your personal and cadet goals.
Over the past couple of years, the staff of 515 RCACS has focused on recruitment and retention of new cadets. It is our goal that we can continue to build this squadron and offer activities that challenge and excite the cadets involved. We look forward to teaching you about our old traditions and making new memories with each of you. Embrace the challenge and most importantly - HAVE FUN!
